I'm not sure I have much that is new or different say than what has been said here and here on the Sanders study of National Board Certified Teachers, except to add that unless Sanders is willing to disclose his methodology, it's impossible to say whether this study is definitive. If anything, it's a cautionary tale for those who want to rush ahead with teacher evaluation models using a Sanders-type approach. Before you try to determine which teachers are the "best"--and how they are paid--the procedures used to rate them had better be transparent.
