SOTU or Fatal Attraction?

January 24, 2007 10:58 AM

What can I add to the already much-blogged-about SOTU?  Well, I'll tell you what made me crabby this morning--Dana Milbank's coverage in the Washington Post and on NPR.  The crazed woman imagery is, I'm sorry to say, sexist and not very funny.  He writes about Nancy Pelosi:

And there, over his right shoulder and holding a large wooden gavel, loomed Pelosi, who has described Bush as "incompetent" and "dangerous."

And on NPR he describes Hillary Clinton as sitting behind Barack Obama waiting to stab him in the back with a knife.  I'm surprised he didn't imagine them both saying, "I'm not going to be ignored, Dan!" What gives Milbank?  Is this Fox News?

Comments

don't be crabby, michele -- usually you're the first and funniest on the block.

just remember, we love you even when you sound a little, er, angry.
