While there is increasing evidence that NCLB has led to more "teaching to the test" and a narrowing of the curriculum, the law's supporters remain dubious. To document what is happening in the classroom, the Texas Federation of Teachers (TFT) is encouraging teachers to keep track of the amount of testing throughout the school year, using this handy calendar. It's a smart campaign that engages members and will provide strong evidence to policymakers about the dangers of overemphasizing standardized testing.
